Getting to Eona

To reach Chios, you can either take a plane or a ferry. Several direct flights to Chios are available, with a flight time of approximately 25 to 30 minutes from Athens. The island’s national airport, Chios Airport — “Omiros” operates direct flights from Athens, Thessaloniki, Mytilene, Samos, and Rhodes.

If you prefer to travel by ferry, you can board one from Piraeus Port in Athens. The trip takes about 8–9 hours and usually operates overnight. Chios is also connected by ferry to several other Greek islands and destinations, including Lesvos, Mykonos, Syros, Ikaria, Lavrio Port, Lemnos, Kavala, Agios Efstratios, Fournoi, and Samos.

You have three options to get to Piraeus port from the Athens International Airport.

— Duration: 0:40 hr - 1:00 hr.

2. You could take a direct bus called “X96” that departs every 20-30 minutes.

— Cost: Around 6 Euros

3. Lastly, you can take the Blue Line metro from the airport towards Piraeus port.
